Thanksgiving Wines, Beaujolais Nouveau and a Balthazar of Barbera

Hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner, but we have checked everything off our market list, and are ready, and excited, for the big day here at Bar Boulud. On Thanksgiving Day, we will be offering a three course prix-fixe lunch and dinner from 11:30am-9pm, and pouring amazing Beaujolais Nouveau en Jeroboam from one of our favorite vigneron, Jean-Paul Brun.

This week, we turn our focus to wines that are perfect for the big day. Ideally, we want a wine that is versatile, and able to pair with a broad range of dishes and flavors. We look for something with medium acidity, modest tannin, and bright red fruit tones which can help bring out the fall spices such as clove and cinnamon, but also accentuates the cranberry notes we find so often on the feast day table. For us, Beaujolais, Pinot Noir, and Barbera are just perfect, especially when poured from 3-Liter Jeroboams, and a 12-Liter Balthazar!

So leave the cooking and cleaning to us, and please join us this week at Bar Boulud, there’s a lot to be grateful for.
