Northern Rhône Syrah is the perfect Fall wine

The first wine I ever fell in love with was from Saint-Joseph. It had everything I treasure: depth and savor, the rusticity and elegance, the purity of Syrah exposed. Lionel Faury is a producer making old-school Syrah that highlights these possibilities. From steep, terraced slopes of mainly granite soil, Faury births a robust classic of the region. Partial destemming and careful attention to detail lead to freshness and a youthful vigor.

I thought mid-October a perfect time to check in on Lionel’s 2017s, as the weather chills and we begin to focus on Fall bistro food. Come have a glass out of magnum, all week long. Santé!
