After the hefty nature of last week’s Madiran, I thought it time to return to the ultimate of bistro wines: Red Burgundy. We’ll start the week with a handful of Jeroboams of Seguin’s silky, elegant Chambolle lieux-dit: should show the structure of the 2018 vintage, but these wines are always quite fresh, even in bigger years.
For the weekend, I’ve 1 9L left of Noëllat’s NSG 1er ‘Les Boudots’—a dark-fruited, finely wrought example of the pleasurable 2017s. Big beauteous aromatics and a long finish make this a particularly special glass of wine out of a large-format.
