A Madiran Melchior with Some Age | 12/27 – 1/2/22

I can’t resist the really big bottle for too long, and since it’s gotten properly cold these days, a rustic, hearty red seems to be the right idea. Chateau Montus is the standard bearer for Tannat, and when I had an opportunity to grab some massive bottles from a Library Release, I leapt right to it.

We’ve got the 2006 Madiran from Montus in an 18L Melchior. 2 cases of wine in one bottle – it’s no joke to pour, that’s for certain.

For NYE we’ll open a 3L of Billecart-Salmon’s Extra Brut 2008. Nothing better than bubbles to ring in the New Year. Hope you’re all safe, healthy and well out there.
