A Burgundian Restaurant Week

As Restaurant Week continues onward, I thought we’d highlight a particular favorite of mine: White Burgundy with a little bit of age on it.

I got my hands on some magnums of Michel Juillot’s 2012 old-vine Mercurey cuvee ‘Les Vignes de Maillonge,’ so I thought we’d pour it all week long here. It’s drinking quite well at the moment: round, pleasant texture supported by subtle minerality and a refreshing finish. I love a glass of Burgundy with everything from Charcuterie to the Coq au Vin Sandwich. In the wonderful world of white wine, there’s no better balance between richness and freshness than good White Burgundy.

Mercurey is a great source of value in Burgundy; the Juillot family is currently on the fourth generation of farming this land; some of the Chardonnay in this cuvée was planted in 1928, when the Domaine began!

Come stop by and enjoy a great glass of wine any day this week. Cheers!
